Sepehr Beton Factory (Vandidad) was the executor of concreting flour mill silos built by Perlit Company. In this Special project, which required 10,000 cubic meters of concreting, the sliding formwork was used to reduce the duration of concreting and increase the speed of operation.
Due to the complexity of the structure and forming of the silos in this project, sliding formwork, as in the construction of the Milad Tower, reduced the 6-month concreting process to 6 days.
In this method, also known as the Swedish formwork, formworks slide along the part of the surface of the work already finished employing hydraulic jacks while preserving its shape, forming a continuous section.
The speed of the formwork sliding depends on the characteristic strength of the concrete and the time required for its initial setting.
Experience has shown that the use of sliding formwork is the most effective method of constructing high-rise concrete structures with variable circular cross-section and thickness, such as television towers, silos, and cooling towers, which in addition to time, execution costs are also significantly reduced, and somehow in the safety of the implementation process plays a significant role.
